Whether you prefer a scenic road trip or a quick flight, here is your comprehensive guide to traveling from Delhi to The Auli Meadows safely and comfortably.
Option 1: By Air (The Fastest Route)
If you are short on time, flying is your best option.
Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (DED).
The Journey: From Delhi, it’s a quick 45-minute flight. Once you land in Dehradun, Auli is approximately a 280 km drive, which takes about 8–9 hours.
Pro Tip: We highly recommend hiring a private taxi directly from the airport to Joshimath. The drive takes you through the stunning mountain roads of Rishikesh and Srinagar, following the path of the holy Ganges.
Option 2: By Train (The Scenic & Budget-Friendly Route)
For those who enjoy the rhythm of the rails, the train is a great choice.
Nearest Station: Rishikesh Railway Station (approx. 260 km from Auli).
The Journey: Take an overnight train from Delhi to Rishikesh. From there, you can catch a bus or hire a taxi to Joshimath.
Why we love it: The drive from Rishikesh to Auli is iconic. You will pass the Devprayag Sangam, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet to form the Ganga—a sight that is absolutely worth a pit stop.
